About me
I'm Paul — a cybersecurity student at the University of Akron (B.S. Computer Information Systems, Cybersecurity), graduating December 2026. I learn by building and breaking things, not just reading about them.
By day I'm an ITAD technician at ARCOA, where I test, audit, and securely wipe enterprise hardware — laptops, servers, storage, and network gear — under NIST 800-88 compliant data handling, and recently helped deploy a full Ubiquiti network upgrade.
Outside of work I run a homelab that's basically a small enterprise environment — routers, switches, firewalls, a TrueNAS server, and a Linux GPU box — where I practice the work I want to do: segmenting networks with VLANs, analyzing traffic with Wireshark and tcpdump, and hardening systems.
I'm aiming for a career in network and system administration with a strong security focus, and I'm currently open to full-time roles. Based in Akron, Ohio.
